A warning for this book: it is intense. Author Jensen relentlessly examines horrors of our society in a quest for truth. How do these things happen? Why? He follows the historical trail through lynchings, massacres, modern slavery, and the destruction of the natural world to arrive at a truth of our society as he understands it. A bit of a hefty read(both physically and mentally). Jensen comes off as a little self-serving and arrogant at times, but overall, the writing is sound. An excellent read for those who want to peel back the layers of society, or who want more than just a bit of light reading.
