The Angel Experiment

The Angel Experiment

"Hold on tight and enjoy the ride."A fantastical story about 6 mutant kids. This book grabs you into their world full of betrayal, love and some kick-butt fights from the very first sentence. Maximum Ride, the leader of their flock (they're bird-mutants) struggles to keep her flock together as they travel across the country, led by the Voice in Max's head. Along with trying to keep her and her flock safe from the Erasers (dog mutants that literally "erase" so-called mutant mistakes) Max also battles strange attractions for Fang, her flock mate and second-in-command. Awkward much?

Another issue that arises soon after the beginning of this sci-fi is the longing to meet their parents. After getting chased out of their safe house, Nudge, a 11-year-old flock mate, wants to try and find her parents and also to find some answers about her birth. While all of this chaos is happening, Angel (the littlest flock member at age 6) ends up getting kidnapped by the people, called Whitecoats by the flock, who changed them into bird mutants.

The flock also has their own personal problems. (besides having wings and being able to fly) Iggy, one of the three thirteen-year-olds, is blind. The Gasman, or Gazzy, an eight year old, is exactly what his name implies. He's full of gas and tends to let it out at the wrong times. He and Iggy also have a knack for all things that can be blown up. Angel is his real little sister and can read minds. Fang, another thirteen year old, is the tall, dark and mysterious type. And then Max. Strong willed and a born leader, the Voice in her head is the reason that they're on the run. And also the reason that they might end up saving the world.

An awesome read and we definitely suggest it to anyone who loves a well-written fight and sci-fi.
