Storyteller is a twisted book full of unimaginable tales. I found it a tad confusing but it straightened out eventually. The book is mainly about a storyteller that goes from a farm boy to the royal storyteller and the people he meets along the way. There wasn't much action and it was kinda slow. it kept me entertained though.

Jack leaves his farm at 17 to see what the world could offer him. on his way to the city, he meets a talking bird named Loquasto and they become friends. Loquasto tells Jack about his life and how he fell in love with what he thought was the most beautiful bird in the land. As it turns out, his true love was a fish princess living in a lake. They tried to make it work but obviously, a fish cant live on land, and a bird can't live in water. Jack promised Loquasto he would find a way for them to be together.

When Jack reaches the city, he is taken by the royal guards to the palace and is put before the king and the prince. Jack is commanded to tell a story to make the prince sneeze a ruby out of his nostril. When he succeeds, he is made Royal Storyteler. While he was at the palace, Jack fell in love with the Princess Stelinda. When the king dies and the prince steals the throne from Stelinda, the kingdom is chaotic. The rest of the story just tells of how the prince is overthrown and the kingdom is safe once again.
