The Goose Girl is a novel based on the Grimms' fairy tale, with an original twist. Princess Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee is a young girl of Kildenree, with a special ability to hear the thoughts of animals, especially the thoughts of birds and her beloved horse, Falada. When she is on her way to meet her betrothed for their wedding ceremony, tragedy befalls Ani and she is left in a hostile land, with no one and nothing to help her, except for her special abilities. The Goose Girl is a fairy tale, but not just any fairy tale; Shannon Hale has spun a web of eloquence, adventure, love, and sacrifice. The story is so full of twists and turns, and magic, that you'll want to revisit Ani's world again and again.
