Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever is a novel centered around Macy. On the outside, Macy has it all: perfect grades, a job at the library, good looks, an intellectual boyfriend, a large home and a "perfect" family. Yet on the inside, Macy is suffocating from the tragic loss of her father and the lack of any functioning relationship. When Macy joins the Wish catering crew, however, her life slowly changes for the better. I liked this book because Sarah Dessen took the idea of "perfection" and flipped it on its head; perfection is not found in a model home or perfectly parted hair, but rather in meaningful relationships, close friends, and true love. The Truth About Forever is worth the read; perhaps you may even find some truths about yourself.
